Adam Recommends: Amy Millan

Hello again Dear Readers... I have missed you. I want to bring to your attention one of my favourite musical artists, Amy Millan. I thoroughly enjoy her mix of indie rock, country, folk ( more easily remembered by the portmanteau "Inrocofo"). Her last album "Honey From The Tombs" has been played so many times on my iTunes that, well....ummmm, that the play count number is really high.

I really feel like I need to promote her, for two reasons: 1) She is a Canadian artist; and 2) Her music is pretty damn good.

I will see if I can embed an audio player in here somewhere, but in the end, I might have to link to one of the many netcast utilities that are out there, but in the meantime click this link to her Myspace page and there is a pretty decent player on there.

New News

I have lost my job.

At first I thought it was under the couch, but after I checked, it wasn't there. Nor under my refrigerator. I think I have lost it forever, but that is just fine. In fact it couldn't have happened at a better time: its the summer, I have quit smoking, I have lots of ideas I want to see through, and I have been neglecting my "weblog" and by extension I have been neglecting You, Dear Reader. And I am so deeply sorry. I was just so busy. Come here, give me a hug...there there...

My first order of business was to get my apartment together and build a small workshop so I can start building things. I am not exactly sure what I am intending to build, however, perhaps I am infatuated with the idea of having a little workshop; but I think I am pretty sure I am going to rebuild and refurbish old bicycles and sell them.

My second order of business was to start playing more music. My friend Scotty plays the guitar and mandolin very well (along with a slew of other instruments) so we are getting a bluegrass/old timey/folk ensemble together. So far there is nothing too concrete, but we will be playing at the bluegrass jam at Ginger's on Wednesday's at 8-ish.

In short, I will be available for most engagements and functions again, but please book ahead, I am in high demand. So basically in other words, I doubt I will be available for anything because I will be busy being tucked up in bed at home being a jobless bum.
